Day 1. Arrive Amsterdam, Embark Ship
Be met on arrival and transferred to your ship. This evening enjoy a Welcome Reception onboard.

Day 2. Amsterdam, Leeghwater
Cruise into Dordrecht and disembark for an excursion to the Leeghwater region, where landscapes consist of lush green meadows, restored windmills and pyramid-shaped farmhouses. The area was World Heritage-listed for its innovative method of land reclamation pioneered by Dutch hydraulic engineer, Jan Adriaansz Leeghwater. The technique, devised during the Dutch Golden Ages, relied primarily on windmills to drain and pump water from the flooded landscapes, enabling new fertile land for farming. Enjoy a visit to a local farm and the chance to step inside a historic wooden windmill. You will also get to see the World Heritage-listed Beemster Polder.

Day 3. Cologne, Freedom of Choice, Bonn
Arrive in Cologne where you can choose to join a local guide for a city tour including the iconic Cologne Cathedral or explore the Fragrance Museum. Alternatively, travel to Bonn where you can explore the city with a local guide or discover the Bonn Botanic Gardens with a presentation from the gardeners. Later, rejoin your ship and cruise towards Cochem.

Day 4. Cochem, Freedom of Choice, Koblenz
Today you’ll disembark in the German town of Cochem, possibly the prettiest town in the Moselle Valley. You may wish to explore the town on a guided walking tour, then visit Cochem Castle. Perched on a hill overlooking the town, you’ll enjoy the fabulous views it offers over the river. Alternatively, enjoy a guided bicycle ride along the banks of the river. Later, tour the unique wine-making exhibits at Schlagkamp Winery & Wine Museum, featuring one of the world’s largest collections of viticulture tools, before sampling famous Moselle Valley wines. Return to your ship and set off cruising along the Moselle River, a winding and picturesque waterway. Absorb the scenery of the spectacular valley as you pass landscapes of lush vineyards and rolling hills. After dinner on board, you have the opportunity to disembark in Koblenz.

Day 5. Mainz, Freedom of Choice
Arrive in Mainz, located in Germany’s renowned Rheinhessen wine region. Perhaps discover the irresistible flavours of the region on guided culinary tour. Meander along the banks of the Rhine viewing the half-timbered homes as you nibble on a selection of German delicacies including pretzels and sausages. If you prefer, you may like to travel to the university city of Heidelberg whose castle ruins, Baroque Old Town and fine beers have long attracted artists, tourists and authors.

Day 6. Speyer, Freedom of Choice
Disembark in the charming city of Speyer today. Choose to explore the sights with a local guide, or visit Europe’s largest private technology museum where you can inspect more than 3,000 fascinating exhibits from all areas of technological history. This afternoon presents the chance to visit a local family for afternoon tea. Gain an insight into local life and sample some homemade treats.

Day 7. Breisach, Freedom of Choice
Arrive today in Breisach and choose from two sightseeing activities. The first takes you by coach to the town of Triberg, once the home of Josef Keller, the inventor of Black Forest cherry cake. Enjoy some time at leisure before a visit to the Black Forest Open Air Museum. Your second option is a trip to the medieval city of Colmar, situated along the Alsatian Wine Route. During a guided tour, see half-timbered houses, the German-influenced old quarter, the Launch River and more. Finish with a visit to a wine cellar for a tasting.

Day 8. Basel, Disembark Ship, Lyon, Embark Ship
Disembark you ship in Basel after breakfast this morning and journey via Switzerland’s beautiful Lake Geneva to Lyon. Upon arrival here, board your luxury river ship for the second half of your cruise. Take time to settle in before dinner on board this evening.

Day 9. Lyon, Freedom of Choice
Experience the gastronomic centre of France, Lyon, on your chosen sightseeing activity today. You may wish to take a guided city tour, then learn all about Lyon’s luxurious silk trade with on a visit to a local silk workshop, located in the heart of the charming Croix-Rousse quarter. Another option is a guided culinary walk, taking in Lyon’s incredible fresh food markets and stopping by local artisan producers. Tonight, indulge in a gourmet feast at L’Abbaye de Collonges, owned by Michelin-starred chef Paul Bocuse.

Day 10. Belleville, Beaujolais Region, Freedom of Choice, Vienne
Arrive in Belleville today, set on the Saône River and choose your Freedom of Choice activity. Perhaps explore the picturesque natural area known as The Domes, home to more than one thousand ponds. You’ll visit a farm to taste local delights, then stop in the town of Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne where you may wish to sample the local specialty - frog legs. Alternatively, visit the hilltop village of Oingt, then head to a family-owned winery for a tour and tasting. Re-board your ship and cruise to the city of Vienne. After dinner onboard, you may wish to step out for a lovely evening stroll through the ancient streets.

Day 11. Tournon, Freedom of Choice, Viviers
Arrive in Tournon and select your preferred activity. Choose to experience the natural beauty of the Ardéche Mountains on a rail journey aboard the historic Ardéche Steam Train. Or, visit Eden Park garden and be captivated by panoramic views of Tournon with the river stretching out below. Following your chosen activity, re-board your ship and continue to Viviers.

Day 12. Viviers, Grignan, Freedom of Choice
Disembark and head to a lavender estate for a tour and a special workshop. Or, visit a truffle farm for an insight into this unique industry. Head out with the dogs in search of truffles then enjoy a tasting of these rare delicacies. Later, journey to the village of Grignan, a hillside village surrounded by lavender fields and enveloped by high fortifications. Here, embark on a private tour of Grignan Castle, enjoy a Cocktail Reception and tastings of regional produce while you’re entertained by local musicians.

Day 13. Avignon
Arrive in Avignon, once an important centre of the Catholic Church. A local guide will take you on a discovery of the city, including a visit to the remarkable Palace of the Popes, which served as a fortress, a church and a residence to the Popes that once governed the Christian world. In the afternoon, travel to the Pont du Gard, a Roman aqueduct that stands some 50 metres above the Gordon River.

Day 14. Arles, Freedom of Choice
Today, perhaps visit Les Baux-de-Provence for a tour of its castle, Château des Baux, followed by free time to explore at leisure. Then visit a working olive mill and farm in Saint Rémy de Provence. Discover the age-old Provençal tradition of olive growing during a tour, and savour a tasting. Alternatively, tour the olive farm then visit Saint-Paul de Mausole Asylum, where Van Gogh spent many of his later years. This afternoon, embark on a tour taking you to the ancient Roman relics of Arles - collectively classified as a World Heritage-listed site. Back on board attend the Captain’s Farewell Dinner.

Day 15. Depart Arles
Disembark your ship in Arles where your tour concludes. You will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
